SEMA 2008 Show Recap
I think I speak for everyone when I say what a great show it was this year for SEMA. There was so much excitement and energy at the GM booth. In fact, the booth was slammed all week with visitors wanting a glimpse of the four Camaro Concepts we designed just for the show. I know we saw upwards of 1,000 visitors at any given time at the booth.
The main highlight of the show was the Camaro media launch where we officially took the wraps off of the Concepts. I had the pleasure of being interviewed by automotive journalists, answering questions about the dream Camaros we proudly displayed. Here’s one particular interview I did for Super Chevy Magazine:

As always, Hot Rod Magazine was also on hand:

The biggest attention-getter of the four was the LS7 Concept. It was designed to pay homage to the COPO drag racing cars of the 1960s. So this LS7 Concept’s got it all: Victory Red paint job, high-performance cam, over 500 horsepower and basic interior to keep weight down for quick launches. We think this LS7 really does justice to the COPO cars in a big way.
Here’s the best part: enthusiasts can build their own version by ordering GM Performance Parts’ LS7 crate engine package. This package gets them a fully assembled, production version of the engine, with everything from the intake manifold to oil pan. All that’s needed is a chassis beefy enough to handle more than 500 lb.-ft. of torque!
The rest of the Camaro Concepts — the Dale Earnhardt Jr., Camaro Black and Camaro GS Race Car — also attracted their share of floor attention. In fact, they all stood out in their own way and appealed to such a wide array of enthusiasts.
I had a great time meeting enthusiasts and journalists from all over the world. I’d like to personally thank all the attendees, including the media and everyone who visited the GM Performance Parts website. We’re already looking forward to next year’s show!
